Your Host was born in Parkstone in 1943. This area of Poole has changed much over the years and the pictures in the Gallery give a flavour of the wonderful old buildings that still exist.
Regrettably many fine house have been demolished to make way for modern (!) dwellings.

A visit to Palmers Brewery in
Bridport, Dorset.
This is a family owned brewery, over 200 years, which produces good beer and supplies its own local houses and other pubs in the area.
Well worth a visit if you are near Bridport.

Gallery 14
The Tank Museum at Bovington, Wareham, Dorset.
I have not visited the Museum since it has been rebuilt and refurbished two or three years ago.
My
impression were of a very well organised collection of British and German First and Second World War Tanks.
Some tanks from other countries have been donated.
There is an excellent tour you can make of First World War trenches.
A display of troops and vehicles in Afganistan that bring home the reality of this very delicate operation.
A small display commemorates T. E. Lawrene ( Lawerence of Arabia). that includes his beloved Brough motor cycle that tragically led to his early death only a mile from the Tank Museum.
Tanks since the Second World war are also on display.
To finish there is a well stocked shop and very good restaurant facility. About a mile from the Tank Museum is a viewing area where you can watch modern day tanks carrying out various training work.
If you are in the area this Museum is well worth a visit.
